stress / insomnia

Stress and insomnia have much more to do with our endocrine system than many of us think.

The Aviva Method balances not only the female sex hormones, but also has a balancing effect on the release of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenalin from the adrenal cortex. Cortisol basically works as a wake up call for our brain. Ideally cortisol is high in the morning and low in the evening, so we get out of bed easily and can have a good night’s sleep.

A constant release of stress hormones robs our bodies of important building blocks for other hormones, especially progesterone. That’s why irregular cycles or a decreased fertility are often linked to chronic stress.

In an Aviva workshop we not only learn the 18 exercises of the Basic Sequence but also have a look at how a balanced diet and some simple life style changes can help us to protect our delicate endocrine system and support adrenal health.
